We call it playing to our strengths. I hear over and over how important it is to find a business partner that complements you. I’m happy to say that this process of collaboration under tight deadlines has forced us to consider whether or not we fit that bill for one another. I can’t speak for her, but my answer is Yes, we do. We are both Jills-of-All-Trades and jump in to help out without hesitation.
I’m happy to report we work very well together and we managed to accomplish nearly all of the 70+ tasks on our list last week (see Maylene’s blog). Thank goodness we both have project management skills. Albeit, sometimes using a different approach but always resulting in the same outcome. We also constantly triaged the tasks … prioritizing and reprioritizing them as the hours ticked by — to the point that I began to despise that word “triage”.
Funny thing is, we have another week with much the same ahead of us. No matter how many things we accomplish, we have that many more waiting to be *gasp* triaged! Oh well, back to the trenches! Oh yeah, and I’ve learned something else this quarter — ummm… starting a business really is as hard as you think it will be! 😉
